What Dufflewool is

Dufflewool is crafted from the soft, airy fibre produced during wool processing. It insulates without bulk and performs without synthetics. Unlike feather fill, it is entirely down-free. Unlike synthetic padding, it naturally breathes. And unlike anything else, it feels unmistakably Gloverall - the same house behind the Men's Original Monty Duffle Coat, now bringing natural fibre into garments where wool has rarely been used: insulated puffers, liner jackets and parkas.

Why a duffle coat maker made an insulation

Gloverall has been making duffle coats since 1951. In all that time the wool has been on the outside - heavy melton and boiled wool, cut to shed British weather and hold its shape for decades. Dufflewool puts the same fibre inside the coat.

That is a smaller leap than it sounds. The properties that make wool a good outer cloth - it traps warm air, it handles moisture without feeling wet, it recovers its shape - are the same properties an insulation needs. What changed is where we put it. Working with wool for seventy-five years is what told us it would hold up as a fill, and what we knew to look for when it didn't.
