Men's Silas Dufflewool Quilted Liner Jacket

The Silas is a quilted liner jacket in the tradition of the M-65 liner: the layer that went inside a field jacket and, sooner or later, got worn on its own. Military style onion quilting holds the fill in place, two in-seam pockets sit where your hands already are, and a two-way front zip lets it open from the bottom when you are sitting down.

What is inside it is the departure from the original. Instead of polyester wadding it is quilted over Dufflewool, our 100 percent wool insulation: a down free alternative to goose down and a breathable, renewable one in place of synthetic fill. Wool has been the material behind Gloverall outerwear since 1951, so putting it inside a quilted jacket is less a reinvention than a return.

In French Navy and Racing Green, in sizes S to 2XL. Wear it as a mid layer under a coat through winter, or on its own from March, which is when a quilted jacket earns its keep.
