The Monty Dufflewool Duffle Coat
The Monty Dufflewool Duffle Coat is the original Monty silhouette rebuilt around the insulation. The outer is a showerproof ripstop, the hood is fixed, and the fastenings are rubberised toggles on leather loops rather than the traditional wooden toggle and jute rope. Four front pockets, two hand-warmer and two patch, an internal waist adjuster and internal ribbed cuffs make it the most weather-ready duffle coat in the range. In Black and Navy, in sizes XS to 2XL. Dufflewool Parkas: the Hawkins and the Shepherd
The Hawkins Dufflewool Parka for men and the Shepherd Dufflewool Parka for women share a fishtail back, a fixed hood, four front pockets and an internal waist adjuster. The Hawkins is cut from a showerproof cotton twill; both are insulated with Dufflewool, which gives real cold-weather warmth without the bulk a synthetic parka needs to reach the same figure. Both come in Navy and Army Green, in sizes XS to 2XL.
The Bonington Dufflewool Puffa Jacket
A wool puffer jacket is an unusual thing, and the Bonington Dufflewool Puffa Jacket is the piece that makes the case for one. The showerproof outer is quilted over Dufflewool fill, with a three-piece hood on elastic adjusters, internal waist adjusters and internal ribbed cuffs. It is the brightest thing Gloverall makes: Berry Red, Bright Orange, Navy and Racing Green, in sizes XS to 2XL.
The Oak Field Jacket and the Ryder MA1 Bomber
The Oak Dufflewool Field Jacket is the shortest and plainest route into the line: four pockets, two flap and two bellow, adjustable cuffs and an internal waist adjuster, in Black, Navy and Mushroom. The Ryder Dufflewool MA1 Bomber Jacket takes the familiar MA1 shape and cuts it in wool fleece, keeping the nylon panelling and the orange lining of the original. It is a unisex piece, in Green, and like the Oak it runs from XS to 2XL.
Quilted Liner Jackets: the Silas and the Marilla
The Silas for men and the Marilla for women are the pieces the line started with, drawn from the M-65 military liner. Onion quilting, in-seam pockets and a two-way front zip, insulated with the same wool fill. They are built to work as a mid-layer under a duffle coat or an overcoat, and to stand on their own on milder days. Both come in Navy and Racing Green: the Silas in S to 2XL, the Marilla in XS to XL.
The Gloverall x Norbit Reversible Peacoat
The Gloverall x Norbit Reversible Dufflewool Peacoat is the ninth piece in the line and the only reversible one, made with the Japanese label Norbit and reworked on Norbit's own block from the Churchill Peacoat. One side is Polartec fleece with a windproof membrane, zipped chest pockets and anchor buttons. Turned inside out, it is an onion-quilted nylon shell insulated with Dufflewool, with elbow patches and zipped welt pockets. It is a limited edition in Navy and Black, in sizes S to XL.
Wool Fill Compared With Down and Synthetic Padding
Unlike down, Dufflewool is entirely down-free. Unlike synthetic wadding, it naturally breathes, letting moisture escape instead of holding it. It dries quickly, keeps its shape without clumping, and is a renewable fibre.
How to Wear Dufflewool
Treat the liner jackets as mid-layers and the rest as outer layers. The Silas or Marilla goes under a duffle coat or an overcoat when it turns properly cold, and works alone in spring and autumn. The Monty, the parkas, the Bonington and the Norbit peacoat are the outer layer in their own right, cut with room for knitwear underneath.
