The Women's Submariner Jumper

The Women's Submariner takes the heavy wool jumpers issued to Royal Navy submariners and refits the proportions for women. It is knitted in England from 100% merino wool with ribbed cuffs and hem, in a regular fit that layers cleanly. It comes in six colours, Navy, Ecru, Light Grey, Mushroom, Black and Red, in sizes XS to 2XL. Hand wash, dry flat, and it will outlast the trend cycle several times over.

Wearing It

Under a Freda or Monty duffle coat the Submariner is the warmest pairing Gloverall makes; over a shirt with the collar out it does smart-casual without trying. The red is the sleeper pick: naval enough to feel right, rare enough that nobody else at the table has it.
