The classic Aran jumper originates from the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland. Traditionally hand-knitted from undyed, unscoured wool, these jumpers were first crafted by the island's fishermen to provide warmth and protection against the harsh Atlantic weather. Ours follows the same construction — a cable-knit wool sweater made to layer under a coat or wear on its own, in eight colours from ecru and navy to burnt orange.
