Every wool piece is made in England. Every cotton piece is cut from premium loopback cotton with the same considered construction. The collection exists to sit underneath Gloverall's coats on cold days, and to stand on its own when a coat isn't needed.
Gloverall has been making outerwear since 1951, but the knitwear and tops range is the collection that goes underneath — the pieces that complete the wardrobe rather than leading it. The wool jumpers draw on the same British maritime and working traditions that shaped the duffle coat: the Submariner from Royal Navy service dress, the Fisherman Jumper from the ribbed knitwear worn on trawlers, the Aran from the cable-knit patterns of Ireland's Atlantic fishing communities. The cotton tops are lighter in tone and weight — sweatshirts and hoodies referencing collegiate and naval workwear — but made with the same attention to fabric and construction. This season the range also includes a limited 75th Anniversary capsule with Aaron Chang of Ivy Boys, marking seven and a half decades of Gloverall with a considered set of graphic jersey pieces.
The Submariner Jumper
The Men's Submariner Jumper is the collection's most directly utilitarian piece. Its design references the heavy wool jumpers issued to Royal Navy submariners during the Second World War — garments built for warmth in cold, confined quarters, where performance mattered more than appearance. Gloverall's version is knitted in England from 100% chunky merino wool using a 3D knitting machine that produces a fully seamless construction, giving it both durability and a cleaner silhouette than traditionally seamed knitwear. The Men's Aran Jumper brings the most texture and visual weight to the range. The Aran cable knit originates from the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland, where each stitch pattern carried a meaning specific to the fishing family that developed it — the cable stitch representing rope and safety at sea, the diamond stitch signifying prosperity. Gloverall's Aran is knitted from 100% 5-gauge British merino wool: dense enough for genuine cold-weather warmth, fine enough to keep the hand feel comfortable against the skin. Ribbed cuffs and hem provide structure. The Fisherman Jumper
The Men's Fisherman Jumper is the quietest piece in the wool range: a regular-fit, ribbed crew neck jumper in 100% merino wool, made in England, with a tubular ribbed neck and ribbed cuffs and hem. The ribbed construction comes directly from its working origins — fishermen's jumpers were knitted in close rib patterns that trapped air and maintained warmth even when wet. The fully fashioned construction means every seam is properly finished. Available in Navy, Ecru, Grey, Light Grey, Petrol and Lime, sizes XS to XXL. The Shawl Collar Cardigan
The Men's Shawl Collar Cardigan is made in England from 100% chunky-gauge merino wool and finished with branded horn buttons — the same horn hardware used on Gloverall's duffle coat toggles, giving the cardigan a quiet material coherence with the outerwear range. A button-through design with two front patch pockets and a raglan sleeve construction that makes it the most comfortable underlayer for longer coats. The Long Sleeve Knitted Polo Shirt
The Men's Long Sleeve Knitted Polo Shirt is the lightest wool piece in the range — knitted from fine merino rather than the chunky gauge used for the Submariner and Cardigan. The right choice for indoor wear, layering under a shirt, or wearing on milder days when a full jumper is too much. A traditional soft collar, three-button front fastening, and ribbed hem and cuffs. The cotton side of the collection brings a lighter, more casual register. The 'G' Embroidered Sweatshirt — available in Navy and Grey — is made from premium loopback cotton with a V-gusset neckline referencing vintage British athletic design. Raglan sleeves, ribbed cuffs and hem, and a single embroidered 'G' as the only branding: the most understated piece in the cotton range and the most wearable across the widest range of contexts. The 'G' Print Hoodie takes the same loopback cotton construction into an oversized fit with a kangaroo pocket and a printed 'G' logo, drawing on influences from naval deck wear and classic collegiate styles. The Ivy Boys 75th Anniversary Capsule
2026 marks 75 years of Gloverall — from Harold and Freda Morris selling surplus military duffle coats from a Holborn warehouse in 1951, to a brand now recognised internationally as the original British duffle coat maker. To mark the occasion, Gloverall has collaborated with Aaron Chang, the artist behind Ivy Boys, on a limited capsule of graphic jersey pieces. Chang's work fuses classic military insignia and collegiate style with a distinctly contemporary sensibility — an approach that maps naturally onto Gloverall's position as a brand rooted in military and working heritage, worn in a modern context. The capsule comprises the Ivy Boys Anniversary Graphic Sweatshirt in Grey and Navy, the Ivy Boys Anniversary Graphic Hoodie in Grey and Green, and the Graphic T-Shirt in Grey — each made from premium loopback cotton with the same raglan construction as the rest of the range.
